21 of our juniors have successfully been in action over the past week at the Mercia Cup based at Malvern College, representing either the club or the Mercian Marauders.
Our Boys u12s were representing the club in the prestigious competition at the glorious setting of Malvern College. The Boys performed excellently against a number of strong teams from across the country.
Wins against Marlow and West Panthers, along with draws against TalentEdge Tigers and Guernsey helped the boys to finish in 6th place in a very competitive two-day event. The boys represented the club brilliantly, and will have gained excellent experience from playing at a higher level.
A significant number of our juniors were then in action representing the Mercian Marauders at the same event at u14s and u16s level.
Isobel Donlon was part of the Mercian Marauders Girls u14s side who finished as runners up to West Panthers, being beaten 4-3 in a thrilling final.
Meanwhile five of our boys were representing the Boys u14s who eventually finished in third place. Eben Snape, Ethan Frost, George Sandiford, Harry Royall and Tom Kirk were all part of the squad who beat Ben Rhydding and Titans, drew with Thirsk and Wimbledon and were only beaten by Hockey Mentors.
The week finished with the u16s tournaments, where the Mercian Marauders squad were crowned as champions with five wins from five. Adam Pritchard, Joe Luke, Matt Curtis, Noah Catton and Will Griffin were all part of this successful squad. Both the Boys u14s and u16s squads were also coached by our Head of Junior Hockey, Dave Washington.
Well done to everyone involved in a fabulous event and for representing the club so well.
