The Men's 6th XI first entered the leagues in 2020/21, demonstrating the fantastic growth of the club and the success of junior and Back to Hockey programmes. Covid hampered the establishment of this side, but it was revitalised in 2023/24 and continues to go from strength to strength.
A slow start to last season saw lots of new senior and junior members integrate into the side, but they are now much more settled and well prepared for a strong season in Midlands 10NW. Dan Forrester continues as captain, and he will be supported in a matchday player-coaching role by Andy Moriarty, with one of the aims of the side being to develop some of our talented youngsters as they make their first step into adult hockey.
The majority of the side in the past has comprised of a mixture of talented young players stepping into senior hockey for the first time, along with players from Back to Hockey who are returning to the sport or taking it up for the first time. The prime purpose is about participation, but also ensuring that everyone can have access to enjoyable and competitive hockey.
This season promises to be an exciting one and we look forward to seeing how the 6s develop as they aim for a top half finish in Midlands 10NW.
2024/25
